A Great Home Base for exploring the Area

We enjoyed our stay in Caux. … a great home base for exploring the area. There were basic supplies on hand like coffee, tea, olive oil, etc., which made it easy to stock up on everything else we needed at the store… we enjoyed the countryside. Thanks for a pleasant stay!

A Lovely Time in Caux – The House was Perfect!

We had a lovely time in Caux. The house was perfect for the three of us.

The village is small – it was great to explore and something totally different from what we have ever seen. Kirsi met us and was very helpful and it was nice not to have to use our horrible French for a change!

The house is set up beautifully with nice touches and everything one might need. We spent time in the market at Pezenas and visited other local villages in the area which were close by.

An Economical, Comfortable House for a Couple or a Small Family

Date of Stay: September 17, 2012

This is a small, comfortable house in a small village. The house is suitable for 3 adults or a small family, don’t try to pack in more people than that, The shared bathroom is quite small. The property manager ensures that you have everything you need including a well stocked kitchen (a definite plus after a long journey). The village is well located for touring the Languedoc region, the sea is not far away, interesting cities and smalller attractions are easily accessed from Caux. A nearby town, Pezenas, has most things that you may need.

This is an economical vacation house that is comfortable and well located for touring the area.

A True Experience of Staying at an Old Historic Beautiful Village

We stayed in Caux at Michele’s place in July and I have to say we had a wonderful time there. We had been looking for a true experience of staying at an old historic beautiful village in Southern France that is not overcrowded with tourists – and found it in Caux. Michele and Kirsi have been very helpful and polite to us before and during our stay- my wife and our 2 kids had a really good time at Michele’s house, which is beautifully decorated, very clean, and well equipment by the way. When visiting this area in France again we’ll definitely stay at Michele’s place and charming Caux again.

Fabulous holiday apartment in rural French village

Who: young professional couple 25 & 27
What: Get away from it all summer holiday/romantic break
When: July 2012

We loved: the charming rustic feel (exposed beams and stonework, tapestries, rugs and antique furniture), the comfy bed, the well-stocked kitchen cupboards (including wine!), the quiet location, the ease of getting around.

We lacked: a garden, some more information for tourists, phone/internet. And Caux itself is a bit dead at night. You definitely need a car.

We’d recommend in the area: the incredible underground ‘grotte des demoiselles’, unlimited vine-tasting the herault, languedoc-roussillon and chateauneuf de pape, the towns of Carcasonne, Avignon and arles, abundant swimming in lakes and rivers (especially under the Pont du Diable in Olargues, countryside picnics, the local markets at Sete and Narbonne.

I Recommend This For
“Absolutely, I would recommend this accommodation to my best friend!”

Friends getaway: Yes
Families with young children: Yes
